Letters of Thanks – Reunion July 2022

Here are some letters sent to Roger Traves after our 2022 Memorial Service at the National Arboretum.

I think that everyone would agree that Roger did a fantastic job liasing with families and organising the event so Thank you Roger from us all.

Dear Roger.

I just want to thank you for making it possible for my family and I to attend the Memorial
Service earlier today. It was emotional but I would not have missed it for the world. A fitting tribute to my amazing husband Robert.

Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of today.

With very best wishes

Jackie

Good morning
I’m sure you will be receiving many such emails today, but feel we
must as a family express our gratitude to you and your team for a
unforgettable day. We felt so proud to attend and to be among families
such as ours, .. . I think I started crying at 10.50 with the sound of
the first bagpipe . ….. My dad would have absolutely loved it…
So once again thank you for all you do. We will continue to visit
places and events related to the apprentice school my dad was soooo very
proud to be part of.
Many thanks …

The family of Alan Rayfield

Hi, Roger.

Just to say a very big thank you on behalf of myself and
family for a very organized, emotional memorial yesterday where a lot of
tears where shed. David’s cross is now in the memorial garden with his
comrades as we know that would have been his wish. And to top it all the
weather shone on us all.

Thank you, kind regards

Lorraine Rowney.

Just a quick note, to say thank you to the arborfield old boys for
yesterday. It was a very emotional and hard day, but we were so glad
that we came. So once again if you could pass on our thanks I would be
very grateful

On behalf of my Mother and all the family, thank you so much for a
lovely service yesterday. It was so very well organised and such a
fabulous tribute to not just my Father but for all the others who have
passed too. It was a great pleasure to attend. I’ve been wanting to come
to the Arboretum for a long time as my husband helped erect the Royal
Welsh / RWF memorial a few years back.
Thank you so much for all your organisation and kindness.
Kind regards
Anneliese Higgins Lee (Daughter of Geoffrey Frank Earnest 58A)

Dear Sir,
I attended your Reunion Drumhead Service yesterday at the NMA as a
family member, as my husband John Langdon 60C, died in March. I would
like to thank you and all involved, for inviting myself, son and
daughter in law. It was a truly wonderful, if emotional, day and you
have given me an treasured memory to hold onto. Meeting up with some of
his friends made our time even more memorable, in fact everyone there
were so helpful, thoughtful and kind. Thank You.

Hi Roger
I got the cross thank you so much it is appreciated and will be thinking of John on the
day.
Regards
Cathy Rankin
